Who are we helping
Stefanos Foundation began in 2001 and is active throughout Nigeria in the following ministries;
- Showing God's Compassion through practical activities, providing for the needs of the Families of Christian martyrs and prisoners
- Serving God's Church
- Enabling Them To survive persecution and its effects
- Sharing God's Love
- Helping the persecuted church win to Christ those who are opposed to the Gospel
- Spreading God's Word
- Supplying Bibles and literature to meet the need for growth and evangelism
- Speaking as God's Advocates
- Being the voice of the martyrs and the oppressed
One practical example of how Stefanos helps local churches is through providing micro finance to help buy fertilizer etc. to aid their farming activities.
Stefanos reports show that 22 pastors who took part all paid back their loans, enabling Stefanos Foundation to use the money again for other initiatives.
Mark Lipdo, the founder of Stefanos Foundation, is an entrepreneur who, as well as running his own business to help sustain his family and the work of Stefanos Foundation, spends most of his time reacting to the latest round of trouble befalling the church.
In more recent times, due to the rise in violence, Mark is in desperate need of financial and strategic help as he has less time to concentrate on his business, reducing his self funding capability.
Through Stefanos Foundation, AST has access to on-the-spot field information of crises as they repeatedly occur. This means we can be kept fully aware of how to help Stefanos help the church to overcome the trauma and remain a witness to a community desperately in need of Gods grace, forgiveness and healing.
