Who We Are Helping

Our aim is to help the work of Bishop Elias Taban, and the team of Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Their projects are so wide and varied, we can help in many ways.
His work for the community has been recognised by the GOSS (Government of Southern Sudan) who have supported Elias by giving him land alongside his projects to help long term sustainability through agriculture.
He is helping re-build the infrastructure of Southern Sudan by establishing orphanages, schools, health clinics, hospitals and churches.
A builder by profession, Bishop Elias is involved in the construction of buildings as well as the ongoing running of the various organisations. The Bishops wife, Anngrace, is responsible for the Christian Women's Empowerment Programme, helping women, and in particular war widows, to be able to earn a living using new skills through various training programmes.
Elias and Anngrace need building tools for the builders, classroom furniture for the schools, beds and other equipment for the hospitals, health clinics and orphanages. The list is endless - as are the opportunities to help!
Elias sees growing crops as absolutely fundamental to his work for a variety of reasons;

There are orphans who need to be fed, teachers and builders who need to be able to buy food at reasonable prices. And the community as a whole will only develop and succeed with a reliable supply of food grown locally, not brought in from other countries at inflated prices.
Being able to produce a surplus and sell corn or beans will provide income to pay salaries, and re-invest in new projects throughout Southern Sudan.
Developing an agricultural programme that includes helping local farmers with their own small acreage, will in itself generate wealth throughout the region, create employment and bring money into the local economy.
And a reliable supply of food grown on site at the orphanages is vital for their longer term sustainability.
Bloomin' Bishop is providing assistance to Bishop Elias and his team so they are more able to help themselves in the future. By supplying tools and machinery we aim to lift the standard of living for the entire community and through doing this bring hope and encouragement.
