Global Commission Partners - latest update
We are so encouraged at our partnership with Global Commission Partners in Florida - see their website at
www.globalcp.org.
The link was made in 2010 at a meeting which Axel Lanousse, president of GCP, and David happened to be attending. Through God's intervention, they overheard each other's conversation and discovered that each shared the other's heart for indigenous mission. They met, and the rest is now history!
In December 2010 Axel travelled to Nigeria with David, and subsequently David visited Puerto Rico to speak at Axel's church and establlish other contacts.
Further links were established in Africa In April 2011. Axel visited Hope for Africa in Siyabuswa, met Bishop Hendrick and a supportive partnership has been established. David, Gwenyth and Axel then visited Zimbabwe to explore further opportunities. Subsequently, David and Gwenyth visited Puerto Rico.
In September 2011 David and Axel returned from an encouraging although gruelling trip to Tchad and Cameroun. With the help of Clement, a French speaking local pastor, links have been established with churches reaching out in indigenous mission in very remote areas. Long days, mosquitoes and malaria, long meetings sitting upright on the ground on matting, it would not have been a trip for the faint hearted, but apart from a couple of days' sickness the Lord sustained David and Axel through this trip and we are grateful for the significant partnerships that have been established.
We are so grateful for the ministry and resources of GCP, stepping in to support these churches engaged in indigenous mission. Many are churches which were in their infancy when David and Gwenyth lived and worked in Africa, and it brings us such joy to see the baton of support now being taken up by GCP in what we pray will be long and fruitful partnerships.
