About AST
AST was formed in 1980 to support the international ministry of Dr David Carling and his wife Gwenyth (see 'Mission Directors'), and more recently has developed to include the Nigeria project. The Trust currently supports two projects:
Project Nigeria
In the face of recent hostility towards Christians in northern Nigeria, AST supports Stefanos Foundation in Nigeria in providing practical, emotional and spiritual support to those suffering trauma and displaced from their homes.
Stefanos provides emergency aid and financial support, and ongoing support in many different ways such as trauma counselling, school fees for orphans, and business regeneration. Stefanos provides services such as legal aid for churches and Christian communities facing discrimination in their neighbourhoods simply because of their faith..
Mission Directors
Our Mission Directors, Dr David Carling and his wife Gwenyth, receive regular invitations from around the world to teach and train pastors and other Christian workers, some of whom work in very challenging environments.

Our Mission Directors project assists David and Gwenyth in this vital ministry by funding their travel and other direct costs where these cannot be met by those inviting them to visit.
Administration
The Trust has very low operational costs. As a result we pass on 100% of all project donations received to those projects, bringing maximum benefit to those in need.
