About AST
AST was created in 1980 to support the international ministry of Dr David Carling and his wife Gwenyth (see 'Mission Directors'), and more recently has developed to include the Nigeria project.
In April 2008, new trustees were appointed to work alongside one founding trustee (Roger Kennedy) and 2 directors (David and Gwenyth Carling) to bring new skills and enthusiasm to the valuable work that AST has achieved over the years, and to expand our vision for the future.
The trust currently has two projects.
Project Nigeria
Following recent hostility towards Christians in northern Nigeria, AST aim to help Stefanos Foundation in providing practical and emotional support to those suffering trauma and displaced from their homes.
After providing initial emergency financial support, AST would like to provide agricultural equipment to enable Christian communities to overcome the discrimination they face because of their faith, and to re-build their livelihood.
Mission Directors
Our Mission Directors, Dr David Carling and his wife Gwenyth, are invited to travel all over the world to provide teaching and training to pastors and other Christian workers, some of whom work in very challenging environments.

The Mission Directors project aims to assist David and Gwenyth in this vital ministry by helping to provide financial assistance when their expenses cannot be met by those inviting them to visit.
Our Sudanese and Nigerian projects both resulted from David and Gwenyth's travels.
